Average tour cost €50 except where indicated.

  1. Visit 3 Roman palazzi in a day, including the private apartments of a family still living in one of the palazzi. Have dinner in a 100-year-old trattoria in the old plain of Mars (extra€).
     
  2. Discover the secrets of the two Roman walls, and the semi-hidden treasures of the Latin Gate.
     
  3. Spend a day with Bernini. See a monastery he designed, his favorite church, the wonderful statue located in the church mentioned by Dan Brown in Angels and Demons, have a light lunch (a la carte) on the Via Veneto of “La Dolce Vita” renown, and finish with a visit to the Borghese Gallery (ticket NOT included)
     
  4. Explore Rione Monti which includes three of the seven hills of old Rome. View ruins of early Christian houses and 4th, 7th and 8th century mosaics and fresco; have a snack and a glass of wine at a porchetteria, whose crusty Roman owner was profiled in Michael Dibdin’s series of detective stories; view an early Bernini statue and an amusing roman tomb; enjoy a view of an old/new outdoor market located over and around the original walls of Rome; and finish with a wonderful pastry at a famous Roman pasticeria. Maybe even visit a prison dating from fascist times. (All day €75).
     
  5. Visit one of the museums (formerly a palazzo) where Rafael worked, and have lunch (extra€) where he is reported to have eaten regularly. Enjoy a walk through Trastevere and visit a candy shop famous for Diavolini, which we will sample.
     
  6. Stroll through the Rome of Michaelangelo’s famous Pope Julius II, who commissioned the Sistine Chapel and a monumental tomb; have lunch(extra€) in the Jewish Ghetto area and finish by viewing the only statue Michelangelo actually finished for Pope Julius' tomb.
     
  7. Take the train to Anzio (€75 includes train ticket) for a visit to the local archeological museum and World War II history museum. Follow this with lunch IN the Mediterranean (extra€).
     
  8. Enjoy a visit to an opera or a popular Roman music hall. (€25 to accompany client, plus cost of tickets.)
     
  9. Visit the Barberini Palace for the art gallery and enjoy a leisurely brunch in a wonderful Roman terrace restaurant (extra€).
     
  10. For a change of pace, spend a couple of hours working in a soup kitchen in downtown Rome run by the Jesuits (contribution only).
